The University of Bergen (UiB) is the most cited university in Norway and we are situated in the safe and student-friendly city of Bergen. UiB offers tuition free quality education and we have more than 20 master’s degree programmes and approximately 350 courses for exchange students taught in English.
UiB is a truly international university and almost 12 % of our students have origins from outside of Norway.
Academic profile
UiB has three major strategic areas. One is marine research - the city of Bergen is considered to be one of the largest marine science centres in Northern Europe. Another is climate research and energy transition, and the third is global social challenges, where the university has earned a distinguished reputation both in Norway and abroad for its excellent, result-driven collaboration on research and education with universities in developing countries.
