Professor of economics, Jon Fiva at the Norwegian Business School (BI) will give a talk based on his paper "How electoral rules shape party systems: Evidence from the 1919 Norwegian electoral reform".

Jon Fiva is a professor of economics at the  Norwegian Business School (BI), also affiliated with ESOP at the University of Oslo. His research lies in the intersection between political economy and applied microeconomics. He currently studies questions such as: Does political power self-perpetuate? Do parties in power direct spending to the hometowns of its representatives? Why did Europe adopt proportional representation?

40-minute presentation of something relevant to the users of the DIGSSCORE facility, the person responsible for each session are free to choose the content, and inform coordinator Erla Løvseth about their choice one week in advance.
