Energy master student's presentation, vol. I

A master student in his final semester from the Master’s Programme in Energy will give a brief presentation of his master's thesis at Bergen Energy Lab.

"Investigation of the gas adsorption properties in a series of Metal-Organic Frameworks, CPO-54-M, and their applicability towards gas separation processes"
Metal-organic frameworks (MOF) have the potential to combine a vast multitude of inorganic and organic building units, thus leading to new synergistically derived properties. As a consequence of their precisely defined pores in the 0.4-2 nm range and large pore volumes, they are heavily investigated materials in adsorption of gases, like hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, and separation processes, e.g. CO2 capture and hydrogen purification. In addition to these properties, scientists are interested in the use of MOFs as energy materials in other application areas, such as catalytic properties (e.g. hydrogen production) and photovoltaic cells. 

The seminar will be held in the Helland-Hansen meeting room at the Geophysical Institute, Allegaten 70, from 12:15 to 13:00 (we open the doors at 12:00). The seminar is free and open to all interested parties

Each student will get 10 minutes to present their thesis, followed by a 10 minute session of discussion and feedback.
