Background and vision

Radiology is vital to the diagnostics and follow-up of MS-patients. The goal is to further broaden the use of neuroradiological markers for disease progression and diagnostics. MRI is also a means to explore the pathology in MS.

Ongoing projects:

Clinical, biochemical and neuroradiological markers for neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis (MS)

The objective of this project is to explore possible markers for neurodegeneration in patients with MS, suited for future use in a clinical setting. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain atrophy measures, neurofilament levels in serum and cognitive function are areas of particular interest. Our method is examining longitudinal clinical, biochemical and radiological data from participants in the OFAMS (omega 3 fatty acid in multiple sclerosis) study.

The estimated time frame is from the fall of 2018 to 2022.
