UoM Internship

Teaching and learning in COVID-19 times

Hovedinnhold

Sehoya Cotner, in the Department of Biology Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota, along with postdoc Hillary Barron, is interested in documenting recent COVID-19-related transitions to emergency remote instruction. Field and lab courses have been especially impacted by these changes, and we will be using quantitative (survey and student performance) and qualitative data to identify broad themes (what worked and what didn’t? how can faculty and institutions help?), make recommendations, and establish future research priorities. You will be working with faculty and student data from the University of Bergen (Norway) and the University of Minnesota. The possibilities for co-authoring a manuscript are high. We anticipate this internship will be completely remote.

Requirements:

You need to be a bachelor or master student in biology or a related subject. Students at the University of Bergen, The University Center in Svalbard, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, University of Arizona, University of British Columbia, and University of Minnesota will be prioritised in the selection process.

To apply, please send a cover letter along with your CV or resume and the names and contact information for two professional and/or academic referees to

Sehoya Cotner, sehoya@umn.edu

A per diem rate will be covered by the RECITE project. The application deadline is 15th May 2020.
