New PhD at ViSmedia
On August 1, PhD-student Anja Salzmann joined the ViSmedia research group. For the next three years, Salzmann will investigate how journalists use mobile technology to produce visual content.

“My work will be a practical analysis of the status quo concerning journalists` use of mobile technology to produce visual news content,” Salzmann says.
Salzmann holds a master’s degree in Applied Media Sciences from the Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. She was previously a research assistant at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen, and a media teacher in Norwegian high school. Her work experience also includes journalism and market communication. Anja Salzmann moved from Germany to Norway after she got her master’s degree. Her initial stay in Norway was funded by the EU Leonardo program.
