Hovedinnhold

How were the heavy floods that hit Western Europa in July 2021 reflected in our language use? Should we be more aware on how we talk about natural disasters? On Wednesday, July 21st, Kjersti Fløttum, project leader of the interdisciplinary CLIMLIFE research project, was interviewed by the Swiss radio RTS-Info on words used in relation to the flood catastrophe. Fløttum highlights that it important to not only talk about invincible problems and catastrophes, but to present solutions and concrete actions that can be implemented in order to mitigate climate change. The interview was held in French: https://www.rts.ch/info/sciences-tech/12361038-comment-les-recentes-inondations-alterent-le-lexique-climatique.html
