Sigrid Torsnes

Sigrid is a master's student at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen. She is working on a study of the transhumanism movement in Europe. Through ethnographic fieldwork in multiple locations in northern and western Europe, Sigrid will be studying persons and groups working on immortalizing the human body and mind. The main focus of the study is cryonics in Germany and the United Kingdom and how new emerging technologies changes cultures of death and dying.

Rebekka Obrestad

Rebekka is a master's student at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Bergen. Through ethnographic fieldwork in London, she is interested in exploring how people relate to ageing, how aging processes are disciplined and what perspectives are conveyed. In her research she investigates three different groups with a focus on anti-ageing: beauty salons, biohackers and transhumanists.
