SUMMARY:Research Ethics Day 2026 - When Science Goes Public: Ethical
 challenges in research dissemination
DESCRIPTION:Research dissemination is becoming increasingly complex.
While research is widely mobilized in public issues and political
decision making, it is also met with increased resistance and
suspicion. This places the researcher in a challenging position. This
year’s Research Ethics Day at UiB focuses on the ethical challenges
of public dissemination, with keynotes and panels on freedom of
expression, misinformation, harassment, and the ethical presentation
of sensitive collections. Through a series of sessions and an art
project (Det antifascistiske bibliotek), we invite reflection on how
researchers can communicate responsibly and with care, while
sustaining trust in knowledge in today’s complex public sphere.
