The Geodynamics group operates the Norwegian National Seismic Network (NNSN), which consists of 33 modern seismic stations on mainland Norway and the Norwegian arctic islands. Numerous collaborative projects and teaching activities have resulted from the operation of the seismic network. Research in erathquake seismology aims to imrpove the understanding of the distribution and causes of earthquakes.
Earthquake hazard seismological research focuses on detection of potential areas of future large earthquakes and asperity locations, and scenario-based ground motion modelling.
