Peter Emil Kaland has been invested as a Knight, First Class of the St Olav’s Order for his efforts to promote the values of coastal landscapes in western Norway.

A special seminar in his honour was organised by Inger Måren and John-Arvid Grytnes entitled The Conservation of Cultural Landscapes: from Traditional Heathland Management to ‘Man and Biosphere’. Twelve presentations were given by scientific colleagues from five countries on Monday 23 April 2012.
Everyone in the EECRG sends their congratulations to Peter Emil on this well-deserved honour.
