Shen's home institute is the Fisheries Resource and Environment Research Center (RERC) of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) in Beijing. He is the Deputy Director of RERC and working with management of environment monitoring in fisheries area and with management of pollution incidents in fisheries area. While at EvoFish, he is interested to work with valuation of natural fishery resources. Shen's stay is funded through a scholarship under the Cultural Agreement between China and Norway.
