Hovedinnhold

Maria has her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Bergen. She is continuing her studies at the University in Bergen in a 2-year master program. The first year is traditionally focused on course work, but Maria has already started to collect material for her thesis that will test if male bearded goby vary in reproductive strategies depending on ambient oxygen in their natural habitat. At this stage, this involves measuring fish and their gonads from frozen samples, and also to collect fresh material for histological studies during a field trip to Namibia.

This project contributes to long research collaboration with South Africa and Namibia.
