Documentation and empirical knowledge about educational matters is important in enhancing the educational quality at the University of Bergen.

In addition to the education reports and evaluations, regular surveys and different individual projects give important additional information and knowledge which is essential for the enhancement of the educational offer at the University of Bergen.
Surveys related to admission are conducted annually and presented in a recruitment report to the Education Committee. An annual survey regarded to the welcoming of international students is also conducted.
The Student Barometer (survey measuring students' satisfaction with UiB) and the Candidate Survey (survey measuring candidates' success after competion of studies at UiB) are conducted every other year.The university also conduct regular surveys concerning the learning environment and students' well-being.
The results from surveys conducted by UiB are usually publicly availably.
