FRAM-2014/15 - Mission completed!
After one year drifting across in the Artic Ocean, professor Yngve Kristoffersen, arrived in Longyearbyen, 22 August, 2015.

Together with Audun Tholfsen, on the hovedcraft Sabvabaa, Kristoffersen has been drifting across the inaccessible Artic Ocean since 30 August, 2014.
This FRAM-2014/15 ice drift station has made unique geological, sea ice, ocean and atmospheric measurements in this area during all four seasons. The station has drifted 1900 kilometres across the Artic Ocean until it ended in the Fram Strait.
According to the Nansen Center press release, 22 August,2015, this completes the exceptional Norwegian FRAM-2014/2015 ice drift station hosted by Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center in Bergen, Norway.
Yngve Kristoffersen is professor emeritus at Department of Earth Science, University of Bergen.
