Fulbright Programme

The U.S.- Norway Fulbright Foundation for Educational Exchange offers grants to American citizens to study, teach or do research in Norway.

Hovedinnhold

The University of Bergen (UiB) welcomes students with Fulbright scholarships every year.

Applicants interested in a Fulbright grant to Norway are encouraged to contact the Norwegian institution, program or professor of their choice to inquiry, if they are willing to supervise them during their stay at UiB.

Application for Master Degree Programmes at UIB

Students who wish to apply for full degree master's programmes at UIB must apply for admission within deadline of 1 December,  in addition to applying for the Fulbright grant

Applicants for full degree master's programmes must have obtained their undergraduate degree (bachelor's degree normally of minimum 4 years' duration) by the time of application (1 December).

UiB does not offer conditional admission to applicants from non-EU/EEA countries that will complete their degree by the time of admission. Uncomplete applications will NOT be processed.

Please note that admission to master's degree programmes is based on academic evaluation.

Admission/Letter of acceptance

The U.S.-Norway Fulbright Foundation will notify UIB about the candidates selected for the scholarship.

Applicants that are awarded the Fullbright scholarship will be given a student status at UIB.  The Letter of Acceptance and other practical  information will be sent by UiB's International Admission Team by 10 June.

Queries about practical matters may be directed to the International Admission Team at incoming@uib.no after admission has been granted.
