Synnøve Marie Vik er faglig leder for Billedsamlingen ved Universitetsbiblioteket i Bergens spesialsamlinger. Hun er utdannet kunsthistoriker og kurator, og har en PhD i visuell kultur fra Universitetet i Bergen, med avhandlingen Nature as violent and violated: Five essays on the visual culture of the Anthropocene (2021). Vik har jobbet som museumsleder, kurator og kunstkritiker, og har også flere års erfaring som spesialrådgiver for kunst og kultur i Bergen kommune. Hennes forskningsinteresser inkluderer økokritikk, antropocen, oljekultur, fotografi og arkivstudier.
