My project focuses on why and how cultural traditions evolve among populations of hunter-fisher-gatherers on the west coast of Norway during the Stone Age (11,500 - 4300 cal. BP).
In specific, I seek to investigate whether both the loss of old stone-tool technologies, as well as the introduction of novel ones during the transition from the late Mesolithic to the early Neolithic, were related to changes in demography and landscape use.
