3-D printing

The laboratory is equipped with a state-of-the-art 3-D printer capable of printing cells together with biomaterials for bone regeneration.

Hovedinnhold

The field of tissue engineering research offers hope to bridge the gap between organ shortage and transplantation needs. Engineering sophisticated 3-D constructs mimicking tissues remains a technological challenge. In our Computer Aided Tissue Engineering Facility we are using 3-D bioprinting technology to print cells, biomaterials, and cell-laden biomaterials to create 3-D tissue-like structures. A great variety of biomaterials are in use to print scaffolds designed based on 3-D CAD models and patient CT data. Our facility is equipped with 3-D-Bioplotter, CT, bioreactor and well established cell culture lab.
