Between 17–28 September took place the course Systematics, Morphology and Evolution of Marine Molluscs organized by Nataliya Budaeva from the Natural History Museum of Bergen and Research School in Biosystematics. The course took place at the Marine Biological Station "Vostok", Primorsky Krai, Russia and is the result of a cooperation between the Natural History Museum of Bergen (University of Bergen, Norway), Shirshov Institute of Oceanology (Russia), National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia), and ForBio (Research School in Biosystematics). It was financed by the Cooperation Programme between Norway and Russia “Multidisciplinary EDUcation and reSearch in mArine biology in Norway and Russia (MEDUSA). The course had a body of eight lecturers including two associated with the University Museum of Bergen (Christiane Todt and Manuel Malaquias) and 18 students from Norway, Russia, Spain, Holland, and United States of America.

After the course all participants were invited to attend and participate in the International Seminar on Biodiversity and Evolution of Molluscs, in Vladivostok, organized by Konstantin A. Lutaenko from the A.V. Zhirmunsky National Scientific Center of Marine Biology FEB RAS, Vladivostok, in celebration of the 25thanniversary of the Russian Far East Malacological Society.
