We want to contribute to the understanding of how structure determines recognition, function and regulation within selected biomolecular networks.


Using an interdisciplinary and translational approach -integrating experimental and computational methods - we explore structural, functional, energetic and evolutionary aspects of the interaction of proteins with small organic compounds, other proteins and membranes. We have a special interest on the aromatic amino acid hydroxylases and aim to develop novel therapeutic approaches for correction of associated metabolic and neurological malfunctions.
