The Eagle is back on deck

The Mohn Observatory was successfully recovered during the CDeepSea 2024 cruise. After exactly 1 year amid majestic hydrothermal chimneys and towering mountain walls the multi-sensors Mohn Observatory is now safely stored on deck of R/V G.O. Sars.During its time at 3050 meters depth the observatory has collected millions of geophysical datapoints. It will now go back to base for well deserved upgrade and sensor maintenance before it is ready for another deployment in the deep sea.
