Why did you choose the Masters Programme in Public Administration at UiB?

Because it is related to my job. And my academic background is also Public Administration and Policy.

What did you write your thesis about?

It is about "Implementation of Gender Policy in Nepal".

Was your topic relevant for the job you have now?

Of course, National Planning Commission is the policy making body of Nepal. All policies matter is related with my organization and job.

Did you have relevant work experience, or did you participate in student organizations?

I have some experience with such organizations in Nepal, but in Bergen I joined Spire Bergen.

Why should new prospective students choose our master's programme?

Almost all students should choose this degree for research based study, self-learning and learning by doing.

What is your job?

I am a Planning Officer at the National Planning Commission, Government of Nepal. I coordinate and initiate  plans and policies.

What is the best thing about your job, and what is most challenging?

The best thing is to know the contemporary policy issues which the government is going to adopt, and the most challenging thing is to manage and coordinate among different organizations, agencies and partners in the policy making process.

What was your first job after graduation? How did you transition from studies to work?

I have been in this job since June 2009. In the study period, I got two years leave. After my graduation, I came back to Nepal and joined again. So i did not feel anything different.

Do you have any tips for new students who are thinking about job opportunities after graduation?

I would like to suggest to choose the research topic which is in your interest or related to your experience. It might be helpful for your further career.
