The Lipid Research Group has established itself as a leading research group at a national and regional level within research in lipid metabolism and mitochondrial function.

Today the group has two main area of research:
1. Studies of bioactive compounds focusing on their role in nutrition and human health.
2. Studies on modified fatty acids and their role in lipid and glucose metabolism with an emphasis on the modification of mitochondrial function.
