Eating chocolate and drinking wine and tea can improve memory, according to a study carried out by Oxford University researchers and their colleagues in Norway.

They examined the effect the three products had on cognitive performance in more than 2,000 people aged between 70 and 74. The findings supported the theory that the products improve cognitive ability because they contain micronutrients called flavonoids. However, the study discovered the positive effects levelled out after just half a glass of wine and four squares of chocolate
