NORHED results: CIH partner in 5 projects
The Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED)has announced the results from the first application round, and CIH is a partner in 5 large research projects.

In this first application round NORHED will fund 46 joint projects between higher education institutions in low- and middle-income countries and Norway. In 11 of these projects UiB is the main partner, and 5 projects of the projects are affiliated to the Centre for International Health:
1) SURVIVAL PLUSS: Increasing capacity for Mama-baby survival in post-conflict Uganda and South Sudan (Makerere University, University of Juba, Busitema University, Gulu University) (main coordinator and Makerere-coord: James K Tumwine, UiB-coord Thorkild Tylleskär)
2) HI-TRAIN: Health informatics training and research in East Africa for improved health care. (UiB, Moi University, Makerere University) - UiB: Thorkild Tylleskär
3) GROW NUT - growing partnership for higher education and research in nutritional epidemiology in DR Congo (UiB, University of Kinshasa - UiB: Jan van den Broeck, Thorkild Tylleskär)
4) South Ethiopia Network of Universities in Public Health (SENUPH) improving women’s participation in post graduate education (UiB, Hawassa University, South Ethiopia Network of Universities in Public Health) -UiB: Bernt Lindtjørn
5) Reduction of the burden of injuries and occupational exposures through capacity building in low income countries (UiB, MUHAS, University of Addis Ababa - UiB: Bente Moen)
