IN memoriam

In memory of Kesheni Senkoro

We are very sad to inform that Kesheni Senkoro, a PhD student in the research group on Global Health Priorities, recently passed away during his data collection in Tanzania.

Kesheni Senkoro

Hovedinnhold

Kesheni was a prominent statistician and worked on a PhD project looking at priority setting of interventions for cardiovascular diseases in Tanzania. He was a Senior Research Scientist and worked with the Directorate of Information Technology and Communication at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania since 2002. He was the Head of Department of Health Statistics there from 2002 to 2014. Since 2012 he has been working on his PhD at the research group on Global Health Priorities at the University of Bergen.

He held a Diploma in Medical Statistics from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (1995), MSc (Medical Statistics) from the University of London (1995), BSc (Mathematics and Statistics) from the University of Dar es Salaam (1989).

Our thoughts go to his family, his wife, Rahel, and three children, Perpetua, Paulo and Eliza. We also think about his friends and colleagues at NIMR. Kesheni was an important member of our
research group; always friendly, cheerful, hard working on his PhD, generous, helpful, wise, and a great friend. This is a great loss to us all.
