Master degree project: Analysis directly on biological tissue with solid-state NMR

Master degree projects where nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is employed directly on biological tissue such as fish filet / organs can be taken with supervisors from the Department of Biology and Department of Chemistry.

Identifying quality characteristics of marine food sources, both existing and new ones, discoveries of compounds with potential pharmacological effects, etc. will require the combined expertise of several research groups. Please contact Prof. Anders Goksøyr (Department of Biology), or Prof. Willy Nerdal (Department of Chemistry) for further information. Such a Master Degree project can be taken with a bachelor's degree in biology or a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In both cases it is necessary to take the course KJEM351 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy.
