Anne Kjersti Daltveit

Professor

Daltveit er professor i epidemiologi med fokus på perinatal og reproduktiv epidemiologi. Hun er også forsker ved Folkehelseinstituttet.

Daltveit er for tiden engasjert i nevroepidemiologiske prosjekter om multippel sklerose og epilepsi. Hun er veileder i et delprosjekt i samarbeid mellom det NRC-finansierte NEUROSYSMED-senteret ledet av professor Kjell-Morten Myhr (UIB) og det NRC-finansierte prosjektet DRONE ledet av professor Trond Riise (UIB). Daltveit sine forskningstema her er perinatale og livsstilsfaktorer for utvikling av multippel sklerose. Daltveit er også norsk prosjektleder i en sikkerhetsstudie etter godkjenning av prenatal eksponering for antiepileptika og risiko for uønskede fødselsutfall. Dette prosjektet er i samarbeid med forskere fra de nordiske landene og ledet av Universitetet i Aarhus, Danmark. En vitenskapelig artikkel og to rapporter til European Medicines Agency er så langt publisert i dette samarbeidet.

Siden 2004 har Daltveit vært engasjert i global reproduktiv helseforskning. Hun har vært samarbeidspartner og veileder i et prosjekt hvor det ble etablert et NUFU-finansiert fødselsregister ved et sykehus i Tanzania. Gjennom dette prosjektet fikk 4 ph.d. studenter og to masterstudenter fra Tanzania sin grad ved Universitetet i Bergen.

Et annet tema av interesse har vært utvikling av kardiovaskulær dødelighet etter svangerskapskomplikasjoner der Daltveit var prosjektleder og hovedveileder.

Daltveit har vært samarbeidspartner i flere post doc og ph.d. prosjekt ledet av andre forskningsgrupper. Eksempler på samarbeid i post doc-prosjekter er risikofaktorer og svangerskapsutfall knyttet til uterusruptur og reproduktivt utfall hos kvinner med revmatiske sykdommer. Samarbeid i ph.d. prosjekt inkluderer svangerskapsutfall hos kvinner med innvandrerbakgrunn og prosjekter innen nevroepidemiologi, som svangerskapsutfall hos kvinner med epilepsi, graviditetsutfall hos kvinner med multippel sklerose, mors folatstatus i svangerskapet og språkutvikling hus barnet, livskvalitet hos kvinner og menn med epilepsi relatert til graviditet, og teratogenisitet av antiepileptika i svangerskapet. I disse prosjektene har hennes ekspertise hovedsakelig vært kunnskap om registerepidemiologi og analysemetoder.

Daltveit underviser i epidemiologi for medisinstudenter, masterstudenter og ph.d studenter ved Det medisinske fakultet. Daltveit er medlem av undervisningsgruppe for epidemiologi ved IGS hvor hun var gruppeleder i 2012-2022.
