I am a social and development antropologist with experience in social development research in Mozambique and Southern Africa. My main research interests are related to all matters of social development, in particular health, poverty, vulnerability, inequality and gender. I have a long track record of research related to rights and legal pluralism, which are linked to my interest in gender issues and vulnerable groups. In addition I have parallel research interests in social media comentary, and governance in general.
Presently I am part of a group investigating sexual and reproductive rights lawfare, with the Centre on Law and Social Transformation at the Christian Michelsen Institute (CMI). As part of my doctoral studies I am conducting research on memory of women of power and authority in Zambezia, Mozambique. The research aims to contribute to the broader discussion on decolonisation of the historical text. As part of my master project I researched about the illegality of polygamy in the Mozambican Family Law.
