I am a vertebrate paleontologist with a background in vertebrate functional morphology and an interest in insular evolution, biogeography, paleoecology and extinction. My research focuses on dispersal, turnover and extinction of insular birds. I mainly work in Island Southeast Asia and Mauritius, where I use fossil bird remains to document prehistoric avian biodiversity and the impact of natural and non-natural disturbances on an insular ecosystem.
