Leder av Sirkulasjonsforskningsgruppen ved Anestesi- og Intensivavsnittet, Kirurgisk Serviceklinikk, Haukeland Universitetssykehus fra 1998. Gruppen arbeider med translasjonelle problemstillinger innenfor ekstrakorporeal sirkulasjon (hjerte-lunge maskin utstyr) med bruk av ulike ve-assist systemer hvor mikrovaskulær sirkulasjon,  væskebalanse og organfunsjon fokuseres.
