Rune Johan Krumsvik er professor (dr.philos.) i pedagogikk ved Universitetet i Bergen og professor II ved Høgskulen i Volda. Krumsvik har vært instituttleder ved Institutt for pedagogikk, UiB (2010-2017) og er forskningsgruppeleder for forskningsgruppen Digitale Læringsfelleskap ved Institutt for Pedagogikk ved Universitetet i Bergen. Krumsvik er også faglig leder for forskerskolen Western Norway Graduate School of Educational Research II (WNGER II), Honorary Research Fellow ved University of Bristol, Editor-in-Chief i Nordic Journal of Digital Literacy, Associate Editor i Frontiers in Pediatrics og har en tilknytning til Pandemisenteret ved UiB ( Eksperter og tema - Pandemi | Pandemisenteret | UiB). Han har publisert 12 bøker og 64 vitenskapelige artikler (h-index 27, i10-index 48) innen pedagogikk, doktorgradsutdanning, digital kompetanse, metode, klasseledelse, IKT og læring både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Han har bred undervisningserfaring fra både videregående skole og Universitets- og høgskolesektoren - mellom annet innen kvalitativ metode, akademisk skriving, Mixed Method Research og litteraturreviews fra både bachelor-, master-, og doktorgradsnivå ved ulike universitet og høgskoler. Han mottok Undervisningsprisen 2012 ved Det psykologiske fakultet, UiB, og ble nominert til samme prisen i 2015. Han ble i 2020 merittert til fremragende underviser (excellent teaching practitioner) ved Det psykologiske fakultet, Universitetet i Bergen.
