Overflate-og kolloidkjemi
Partikkeldannelse i surfaktantsystemer og emulsjoner
Underviser p.t KJEM100 (Kjemi i naturen) (Fra H-2011). Om våren underviser jeg "Eksperimentelle teknikker i fysikalsk kjemi" (KJEM319)
Har tidligere undervist kursene Overflate- og kolloidkjemi (KJEM214), Kjemisk Termodynamikk (KJEM210) og "Nanoprosesser og Nanomaterial" (NANO200).
Masteroppgaver blir gitt innen følgende forskningsområder:
Nano-partikler fra surfaktantsystemer og andre kolloidale systemer
I kolloidale systemer vil kjemiske reaksjoner (som f.eks utfelling av partikulært materiale) være bestemt bl.a. av størrelsen på de kolloidale domenene. Svært ofte vil partikler som dannes være såkalte nanopartikler. Ved å bruke surfaktanter kan vi få en rekke ulike typer surfaktantaggregater som er i den kolloidale størrelsesorden.
Problemstillinger som kan være aktuelle:
- Kartlegging av surfaktantsystemer som kan være aktuelle som "matriser" for partikkeldannelse; Hvilke materiale kan dannes i systemene?
- Reaksjoner i mikroemulsjoner (en type surfaktantsystem); hvordan kontrollere partikkelstørrelsen?
- Reaksjoner i mikroemulsjoner; ulike strategier for reduksjon av metall-ioner
- "Gjenbruk" av mikroemulsjoner, kan samme surfaktantsystem brukes flere ganger for en gitt partikkelsyntese?
- "Nano-emulsjoner" som reaksjonsmedium
Surfaktantssystemene og nanopartikler kan bl.a. bli karakterisert med dynamisk lysspredning (partikkelstørrelse, oveflateladning m.m). Også andre eksperimentelle teknikker som rheologi, Langmuir-Blodgett-deponering, elekronmikroskopi m.m. vil være aktuelle.
