Jeg er en planteøkolog og er interessert i:

  • Effekter av klima og miljøendringer, og hvordan disse påvirker naturen på forskjellig nivå - fra plantefysiologi via populasjonsdynamikk til samfunnsprosesser og biodiversitet 
  • Menneskenes bruk av naturen, før og nå, og effekter på økosystemene
  • Økologiske prosesser i plantesamfunn, og spesielt hvordan spredning og nisjer bidrar til mønstrene i diversitet og dominans vi finner i naturen 
  • Regenerasjonsøkologi og frøbankdynamikk
  • Bedre biologiutdanninger

I min forskning kombinerer jeg laboratorieeksperimenter, felteksperimenter og  observasjoner av naturen. Gjennom ene forskningsprosjekter og samarbeidsprosjekter i Norge, Europa, USA, Uganda, Nepal og Kina får jeg mulighet til å jobbe i mange forskjellige regioner, naturtyper, økosystemer og med forskjellige metoder.
