Ranga Jayawickrama is collecting additional guppy material from Sri Lanka for his thesis on variation in morphological traits in guppies.

Guppies have been introduced to Sri Lanka for mosquito control and are now common in many types of freshwater habitats. Ranga expects to find similar differences in morphology, life history and population structure determined by predation pressure as reported for guppies in their native Trinidad.
