Small, fast and cheap drones have reshaped modern warfare. In Ukraine, they are being weaponised by Russia to strike civilians behind the front lines, in what some have called a chilling “human safari.”

Drawing on Truth Hounds’ report Killzone: How Russian Drones Are Devastating the River Dnipro’s Right Bank, we will explore how drones are changing modern conflict, the challenges of documenting violations of international humanitarian law, and what can actually be done to protect civilian lives.
