Guest Lecture: Dr. Janice Gobert on Intelligent Tutoring Systems
We invite you to the SLATE office at UiB to attend a guest lecture on Intelligent Tutoring Systems by Dr. Janice Gobert, Professor of Educational Psychology and Learning Sciences at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
Hovedinnhold
Lecture topic: An AI-based platform for real time assessment, scaffolding, and alerting on students’ science competencies.
This is a GREAT opportunity to hear one of the leading researchers in AI in Education. Dr. Janice Gobert not only carries out leading research in the field, but has also commercialised the research by creating Inq-ITS, a learning tool that is currently used in 12 countries and 50 of the united states.
The main goal of this presentation is to describe how rigorous assessment design frameworks and new computational techniques can be used to design and develop assessments in order to realize the reform envisioned in frameworks for 21st century skills including the Next Generation Science Standards (2013).
The presentation will describe Inq-ITS (Inquiry-Intelligent Tutoring) and its accompanying teacher dashboard Inq-Blotter, which are technology-based systems designed expressly to assess and support students’ competencies at science practices and support teachers’ pedagogical practice related to these practices.
No registration is required.
