Design thinking workshop on SDG14 - Climate change the Ocean and its People

Are you a master student and would like to challenge yourself by participating in an innovation camp on Climate change, the ocean and its People? Then you are the student we are looking for.

Hovedinnhold

YOU WILL LEARN: An innovation method combining business model thinking with prototyping. Students participating will receive a Design Thinking Diploma.

The master students participating in our two day Design Thinking workshop will be presented with two different cases to choose from in relation to:

1. A warming ocean - Increasing sea surface temperature
2. Here comes the rain - Heavy precipitation

WHO WILL LEAD YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS: Federico Lozano and Susan Johnsen will be your facilitators. Mentors from academia and industry will also be present.


OUTCOME: Bergen Live will film your presentations on the last day of the workshop. The videos will be presented during the Ocean Sustainability Bergen Conference on 21 October, 2021.

REGISTRATION COSTS: None. Lunch, refreshments and dinner during the workshop will be served for free.

NB! Places are limited so in case of overbooking, candidates will be selected on the base of study program, home institution and gender. Selected students will be notified by e-mail shortly after the deadline.

PROGRAM:

Day 1

10:30 - 11:30 - Welcome and introduction to design thinking/ Ice breaking exercise
11:00 - 11:30 - Team information
13:00 - 16:00 - Decide which problem to solve/ Ideate - brain storming
16:00 - Dinner: Pizza at Makerspace (free of charge)

Day 2

09:00 - 10:00 - Recap - pick the best idea to go forward with
10:00 - 15:00 - Prototyping - design a solution & test your idea
15:00 - 16:00 - Presentations
17:00 - Dinner at Agave Mexican restaurant (free of charge)
