The debate about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) centers around the need for a new and different global political economy. More jobs are needed, and growth should be inclusive and environmental friendly. Yet, the idea is that these changes will come by help of the same institutions that has shaped and dominated our global political economy.

In his talk, Tor Halvorsen asks if this is possible, given that the main goal of the SDG is to get rid of poverty in the world.
