Målet med min forskning innen analytisk kjemi er å maksimere informasjonen som kan hentes fra analytisk instrumentering ved bruk av kjemometri. 

Aktivitetene for å oppnå dette målet kan deles inn i følgende kategorier:

  • Ekstraksjon av informasjon fra spektra og kromatogrammer for bruk til kvantifisering og identifikasjon. Dette inkluderer teknikker som støyreduksjon, spektral sammenligning og oppløsning av overlappende signaler.
  • Prediksjon av kromatografisk retensjon og retensjonsbaserte metoder for identifikasjon.
  • Optimalisering og standardisering av kromatografiske betingelser ved hjelp av responsflate-metodikk.

I tillegg utvikler jeg også Matlab-basert programvare for kromatografi og massespektrometri som brukes i vår undervisning og forskning. Jeg vedlikeholder også en samling med kromatografiske og massespektrometriske data for fettsyre-metylestre.

Kurs

Jeg underviser i emnet KJEM/FARM250 (Analytisk Kjemi), KJEM350 (Kvantitativ organisk analyse) og EMQAL AM15.

Masteroppgaver innen kjemometri eller analytisk kjemi tilbys til studenter på masterprogrammene i kjemi og medisinsk teknologi
 
Mange av oppgavene utføres på eksterne laboratorier, typisk på Haukeland Sykehus eller Havforskningstinstituttet.
