This is the Summer talk of the seminar series from the SSIS group. In this talk, Michael Riegler will talk about the topic: "Machine learning for human performance prediction" with some discussions about potential collaborations with their new lab: the OsloMet Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab).
 
Abstract: Sport technology has advanced a lot in the recent years. More devices than ever are used to track and measure performance of sport professionals. In this talk Michael Riegler will present his work in the field of sport performance analysis with a focus on time series analysis and their research conducted with several Norwegian soccer clubs.

Place and Time: 15:15 - 16:00 Wednesday June 12th 2019 at Meeting Room 1, Media City Bergen, Lars Hilles gate 30, 5008 Bergen.

Speaker: Michael Alexander Riegler is a senior researcher at SimulaMet and one of the founding members of the OsloMet Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab). He received his Master’s degree from Klagenfurt University with distinction and finished his PhD at the University of Oslo in two and a half years. His PhD thesis topic was efficient processing of medical multimedia workloads. His research interests are medical multimedia data analysis and understanding, image processing, image retrieval, parallel processing, crowdsourcing, social computing and user intent. He is involved in several initiatives like the MediaEval Benchmarking initiative for Multimedia Evaluation, which runs this year the Medico task (automatic analysis of colonoscopy videos). Furthermore he is part of an expert group for the Norwegian Council of Technology on Machine Learning for Healthcare.
