Non-Communicable Diseases and Universal Health Coverage

NCDs pose a heavy burden on global health and economic security, with severe impact on low and middle-income countries.

Achieving UHC requires urgent action towards prioritising NCDs in the design and implementation of health policies and essential health service packages, ensuring sustainable financing mechanisms to pay for services and maximising opportunities for service integration, so that “health for all” can become an equitable reality.
