Microplastic contamination seen through different lenses

The Plastic Network at UiB and collaborators IMR, NIVA and Norwegian Society of Pharmacology and Toxicology will this fall organize the 4th microplastic symposium on November 20th. The title for the meeting is “Microplastic contamination seen through different lenses”, encompassing the multifaceted issues surrounding microplastic pollution, including human and environmental health.

Keynote speaker Dr. Lusher is a senior research scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research, with more than 15 years of experience in plastic-pollution research and assessment. She has led microplastic assessment strategies for the Norwegian Environment Agency, co-developed best-practice guidelines and reports for the Ministry of Environment Japan, Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme, and Food and Agriculture Organization among others, and spearheaded efforts to optimize and harmonize methodologies for accuracy and comparability. As a high achieving scientist, Dr Lusher brings a proven ability to translate science into actionable policy frameworks.
