In my MSc project, I will study the exhumation history of the outer Sognefjord/Fensfjord. To obtain information about exhumation, I will apply thermochronological techniques, namely apatite fission track dating and (U-Th)/He analysis together with structural field data. Low-temperature thermochronological age data may provide information on reactivation of major faults in the area. Based on such data, I want to estimate the timing and the responsible forces for the uplift of the Norwegian margin. To reveal aspects of the geomorphological evolution of elevated plateaus in the region, I will use thermal history modelling.
