Hairdressers are exposed to a large number of chemical factors during work.

A prospective study of allergy and respiratory disorders among hairdressers in Bergen has been performed. The hairdressers were examined in 1995/1996 as well as in 1999/2000, to study the development of allergy and respiratory disorders in this occupational group.
