The Postgraduate School of Clinical Medical Research was established in 2005 at the Faculty of Medicine on the initiative of:

  1. Department of Clinical Medicine 
  2. Department of Clinical Science
  3. Haukeland University Hospital

 

The purpose of the research school is to:

  • To give PhD students an optimal and effective training and supervision in methods of clinical medical research
  • To establish a network for clinical researchers, and
  • To increase the awareness of health workers, health authorities, governments and the public concerning clinical medical research and its consequences for diagnosis and treatment of disabling and life-threatening diseases

More than 250 clinical researchers are working at the two clinical university units. This includes scientific supervision and training of around 300 PhD students and 30 post- doctoral candidates
