2016 - Tiina Jokela

Born 1981 in Finland, holds an M.S. degree in biochemistry and a PhD from the University of Eastern Finland (2011), focusing on regulation of hyaluronan synthesis by UDP-sugars. She was a postdoc in the Lorens group until 2016, where she conducted studies on Micro-Environmental Arrays (MEArrays) and breast cancer. Her research focus was on how the microenvironment regulates mammary stem cell fate by using the Axl-receptor tyrosine kinase as a marker of a plastic cell phenotype.
