Hovedinnhold

This December politicians and researchers from all over the world will gather in Paris to discuss and agree to new solutions to the climate crisis. Naturally, many researchers from the University of Bergen will be in attendance.

Climate and energy transition is one of three areas of research that are given special priority at the universiy. Today this research is increasingly carried out on all UiB faculties, from the humanities and social sciences to law and hard science.

Climate research at the university can be traced back to the start of the 20th century, when Vilhelm Bjerknes founded the Bergen School of Meteorology and made meteorology an exact science.

In the articles below you can read about much of the climate related research that is being carried out at the University of Bergen, from an article with Eystein Jansen, one of the key researchers behind the UN's 2013 Climate Report, to articles highlighting how research into law and language is contributing to both debate and solutions to climate issues.
