Den 9. desember får forskergruppen besøk av Tevfik Can Peker fra Kadir Has University i Tyrkia. Han skal holde presentasjon for forskergruppen om sitt PhD-prosjekt som omhandler "the evolution of the laicism/ constitutional principle of the laic state in Turkey".

Tevfik Can Peker skriver følgende om prosjektet sitt:
"In my research, I focus on the evolution of the laicism/ constitutional principle of the laic state in Turkey. The first part examines the historical interaction between religion and political power and its changing nature, from the Ottoman Empire's era to the republic's foundation, emphasising the impacts of the socio-economic factors. The second part of the thesis focuses on the recent decline in the principle of the laic state in the context of the country's integration into the capitalist world system and its economic dependency, especially in the last 20 years. The changing meaning of the laic state in the decisions of the Turkish Constitutional Court will be evaluated through this perspective."
